Description

Ok due to some lame ass comment by some lame ass looser about how I draw like a 9 year old I have news for you. I was born in 1980, this picture was drawn in 1985. To me that seems like a great accomplishment FOR A FIVE YEAR OLD CHILD! So anyway this was drawn with a combination of Crayola Colored Pencils, Prang Colored Pencils, and some cheap assed art set that you can buy at a Dollar General or Dollar Tree Store. It was a gift set from some distant family relative who didn't live in the state I lived in at the time. at about age "7" I recolored over the picture do change a few things, for 1: It was just a unicorn, uncolored walking through trees that were colored some shade of purple, there was no grass, there were no hills, there were no tree tops, there was no sky. I added these things at this time. I merely colored the ground green, I did not add the shadow detail, I did not add the tall grass tufts here and there until latter. 2: At age "9" is when I got a hold of a colored pencil technique book from some publisher, I can't remember who it was by and sadly I do not have the book in my possession any longer. This is when I recolored the trees to a browner shade and added the bark detail, I added the shadow under the unicorn, I retraced over the pencil lines with blue and colored the unicorns main and tail with several shades of blue and added some purple to it and tried to tie it in to the purple trees, I created the grass tufts with a combination of greens and a shade of blue green to try and tie it into the unicorn, I then added some shading to the hills in the distance to try and give the illusion of bushes, or forest, or thick grass, or something to them to add definition, I can't exactly remember what I was trying to accomplish, sadly however you cannot see the top of the trees. My scanner will not fit a sketchpad that is an 11 inch by 14 inch spiral bound. The pad that was used was a simple Starthmore 300 series pad, nothing fancy, I tend to like using that size and that type since it is pretty much a general purpose pencil sketch pad.

NightBane666! wow ok, I understand that some of this was done when you were 5, while the rest was added when you were a bit older, but...I still wish I could've done any of that when I was 5...oh the things I could have drawn...
